Tom has been digging into deep electronic music for nearly 30 years now. He was first introduced to electronic music on a 2nd grade snow day by Vassar College Radio (WVKR). A call to the DJ led to the discovery of Coldcut and then the NinjaTune label. In the decades since, Tom has become a collector and fan of all types of electronic music from brutal techno to funky house to the deepest ambient albums. Tom’s DJ style has always been on the deeper and chilled side with a special interest in instrumental hip hop, deep spacey beats, trippy samples, and good synth lines. Tom was a resident DJ for Undercity Sundays at Halycon in Brooklyn and DJ’d in chillout rooms and small venues throughout the early to mid 2000’s. In addition to DJing Tom was part of the Upstate Rave Core collective that threw a series of intimate events at the Rhinecliff Hotel in Upstate New York as well as doing professional lighting and lasers as Abstrakt Reality at electronic music shows for many years. Fast forward a decade and lots of life changes later, and Tom never lost touch with electronic music. You can catch Tom at various small events around Beacon, NY, and wherever the opportunity to share music presents itself. He also loves to educate (or torture) his kids and friends with the history of electronic music.
